Kirloskar Electric Company Limited has successfully executed major order for 18 Nos of 90 KW, 6 Pole Vertical High Thrust AC Motors for a Government of India Enterprise project through a Pump OEM for an extremely critical application of powering the Reactor Shut Down Coolant Pumps. These motors with special non-reversible arrangement have to withstand downwards and upwards thrust loads of the order of 24000 to 68000 N magnitude and should have a proven capability to perform in a Radiation zone of 100 Megarads with a minimum life expectancy of 40 years for its insulation system.
